Los Angeles Community Plan Update Program: Westchester - Playa del Rey
Working closely with Kaku Associates, Inc., Raju
was involved in the development of a
transportation improvement and mitigation
program for the Los Angeles Department of City
Planning (LADCP) and Department of
Transportation (LADOT) for the Westchester-Playa
del Rey Community Plan Area. As part of this
study, a detailed travel demand forecasting
model was developed based on the City of Los
Angeles General Plan Framework and the regional
models from the Southern California Association
of Governments (SCAG).
In addition, advanced GIS techniques were
utilized in the development of the traffic
analysis zone (TAZ) system, the representation
of land-use and socio-economic data by census
geography, and the preparation of exhibits
showing system supply components including
multiple modes for evaluation of deficiencies in
network connectivity and other analyses. A
regional circulation analysis consistent with
the requirements of the Congestion Management
Program (CMP) for Los Angeles County was
prepared as well. In the end, a document
including all these elements was prepared in a
manner that could easily be incorporated into
the CEQA documentation for the community plan
area.
