SR 90 Extension PSR & Admiralty Way Corridor Improvement Traffic Study

Raju Associates was involved in the preparation of the traffic study for the SR 90 Extension PSR including initial conceptual design of the alternatives, assessment of these concepts, analyses and effectiveness evaluation for the finalist alternatives carried forward in the PSR, and traffic impacts assessment incorporated in the environmental document prepared for this study effort. Raju Associates worked closely with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works as well as Caltrans staff to prepare this analysis. As part of this evaluation, Raju Associates also prepared detailed flow and queuing analysis using a micro-simulation package (NetSim) both with and without this improvement for Caltrans benefit.

Concurrent with the SR 90 PSR traffic analysis, Raju Associates was also involved in the preparation of a traffic study to evaluate Admiralty Way Corridor improvement alternatives. Admiralty Way is a key arterial facility providing access to all existing and potential future developments in Marina del Rey, CA, and the proposed improvements evaluated along this corridor complement the SR 90 extension project well. Raju Associates prepared future year forecasts using a sub-regional travel demand forecasting model and evaluated all the key intersection’s operations. Required improvements were determined to improve the mobility of people along this travel corridor and these improvements were tested to ensure required effectiveness. Both of these improvements were recommended to accommodate future growth in Marina del Rey.
