St. Philip The Apostle Parish & School Master Plan Project Traffic Study
Raju Associates, Inc. was involved in the preparation of a traffic study for the St. Philip the
Apostle Church and School Master Plan Project located in the City of Pasadena, California.
The Project consisted of a new school building that would result in a net gain of two additional
classrooms for the school facilities. A potential increase of approximately 116 students
was
anticipated. The Proposed Project also included a new 11,000 square feet Parish Hall (to
replace the existing hall which will be demolished to make way for the new school building),
renovation of North School Building (approximately 13,000 square feet) for use as a Ministry
Center, renovation of 10,000 square feet Parish Center and reconfiguration of parking and site
areas to provide more functional space. All these elements of the Master Plan are being
undertaken to provide improved facilities for current activities and to accommodate the
potential additional 116 students at the School. Currently, the school has an enrollment
of 454 students. The total enrollment with the Master Plan Project would be potentially 570 students.
Raju Associates was involved in all aspects of the study including development of a memorandum
of understanding (MOU) detailing the scope, assumptions and parameters to be used in the study,
preparation of traffic impact analysis, and identification of mitigation measures. Raju
Associates worked closely with the City staff and representatives of the project applicant throughout
the course of this study. This traffic study was prepared consistent with the City of Pasadena’s
Transportation Impact Review – Current Practice and Guidelines document.
