Traffic Study for the All Saints Episcopal Church Additions and Renovation Project
Raju Associates completed the preparation of a traffic study for the All Saints
Episcopal Church expansion and renovation project located within the City of
Pasadena, California. The project consisted of expanding the existing 58,990
square-foot church to 105,264 square feet, a net new total of 46,274 square feet
and 20 senior housing units. The Project included building additions as well
as renovation and demolition of existing buildings. The Project provided a
subterranean parking garage containing a total of 121 parking spaces, with the
rest of the parking requirements for their Sunday services met by an agreement
with Kaiser Permanente and Plaza Las Fuentes, who own nearby parking structures.
Two access alternative schemes were evaluated for the project, as well.
Raju Associates was involved in all aspects of the study including development
of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) detailing the scope, assumptions and
parameters to be used in the study, preparation of traffic impact analysis,
and identification of mitigation measures. Raju Associates worked closely
with the City staff and representatives of the project applicant throughout
the course of this study. The traffic study was prepared consistent with the
City of Pasadena’s Transportation Impact Review – Current Practice and
Guidelines document.
This study included the analyses of numerous intersections and roadway segments
in the area surrounding the project site and access and circulation at the
proposed driveways providing access to parking for the project. A parking study
was performed that included existing parking utilization surveys at several
adjacent parking facilities and future parking forecasts based on the City’s
parking code requirements and existing parking counts.
